Dicom Vault — personal DICOM viewer for iPhone and iPad.

Effective date: 12 May 2026 · Last updated: 12 May 2026

Privacy at a glance

  • Your DICOM files never leave your device. We have no servers that store your medical images.
  • No account, no login, no email collection.
  • No advertising. We do not collect IDFA and do not request App Tracking Transparency.
  • We collect anonymous product analytics (Firebase Analytics) to improve the app — no patient data, no image content, no identifying information.
  • Purchases are processed by Apple. We never see your payment details.

1. Who we are

Dicom Vault (“the app”) is developed and operated by Adios Games (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what data the app handles, why, and what you can do about it.

2. What Dicom Vault is — and what it isn’t

Dicom Vault is a personal medical image viewer for DICOM files (CT, MR, X-Ray, PET, ultrasound, etc.). It is intended for educational, research, and personal use.

Not a medical device. Dicom Vault is not FDA-approved, not CE-marked under EU MDR, and is not intended for clinical diagnosis or treatment decisions. Always consult a qualified medical professional using certified clinical tools.

3. Data you import (DICOM files)

Any DICOM file you open, import, or view in Dicom Vault stays on your device. We do not upload it, copy it to any server, cache it externally, or share it with any third party.

If you choose to share a study using the system share sheet (Mail, Messages, AirDrop, Files, etc.), the data is transmitted by that platform under its terms — not ours. You remain solely responsible for the content of anything you share.

3.1 Patient data and applicable law

DICOM files may contain personally identifiable health information (PHI). You are responsible for compliance with applicable data protection law — including GDPR, HIPAA, KVKK, and equivalent regimes — when handling, viewing, or sharing patient data. We do not act as a data processor for your DICOM content.

4. Information we do collect

We collect a limited set of anonymous, aggregated data to understand how the app is used and to fix bugs.

We do not collect: your name, email, phone number, address, contacts, location, photos, health data (Apple HealthKit), or any patient data from the DICOM files you open.

5. Third-party services

Dicom Vault uses the following services to deliver its core functionality. Each is configured to minimize the data they receive.

  • Firebase Analytics (Google LLC) — anonymous product analytics. IDFA collection is disabled. Firebase privacy.
  • RevenueCat — receipt validation wrapper around Apple StoreKit. Receives anonymous Apple transaction IDs to determine your Pro entitlement. RevenueCat privacy.
  • Apple StoreKit 2 — handles all in-app purchases. We never see your payment information. Apple privacy.
  • DCMTK (OFFIS e.V., BSD license) and OpenJPEG (UCLouvain, BSD license) — bundled offline libraries used for DICOM parsing and image decoding. These libraries run entirely on your device and make no network calls.

6. App Tracking Transparency (ATT)

Dicom Vault does not perform cross-app or cross-website tracking and does not request the IDFA (Identifier for Advertisers). The App Tracking Transparency prompt is intentionally not shown, because we have no use case that would justify it.

7. The bundled demonstration study

On first launch the app offers to install a small bundled sample study so you can explore the viewer without supplying your own files. This dataset uses synthetic identity information (Patient: “Sample · Demo”) and contains no real patient data. You can reinstall or remove it at any time from Settings → Sample Data.

8. Children’s privacy

Dicom Vault is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Your rights

Because we do not link any data we collect to your identity, we cannot identify a specific user’s analytics events. You can:

  • Reset your Firebase Installation ID by deleting and reinstalling the app.
  • Opt out of Firebase Analytics entirely by deleting the app.
  • Request information about how we process data by contacting us (see below).

10. Data security

Your DICOM files are stored on-device, inside the app sandbox provided by iOS. Files are protected by iOS file-system encryption when your device is locked. Anonymous analytics are transmitted over HTTPS to Firebase.

11. International transfers

Anonymous analytics processed by Firebase may be transferred to and stored on Google’s servers (primarily in the United States and other regions where Google operates). Firebase data processing is governed by Google’s Data Processing and Security Terms.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated “Effective date” at the top of this page. Continued use of Dicom Vault after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
